Highland Auxiliary |
A few of the trademark events that characterize the Auxiliary are its Annual Day at the Races, its largest fundraiser of the year; the Holiday Craft sale in December, and regular bake sales. Funds from these events are used to purchase items for patients. Each year the Auxiliary makes several $500 awards to various departments to purchase patient care needs. These “mini grants” also are used to purchase small but needed items for use by individual departments, such as a Polaroid camera for the Physical Therapy Department, or to upgrade the computer memory in the Trauma Service. All items, large and small, are much appreciated by those who benefit from the Auxiliary’s generosity. A tradition over the years presented by the Auxiliary has been the Ice Cream Social for all three shifts of the hospital. This act of kindness has been undertaken to thank the staff for all their hard work on behalf of the patients. The Auxiliary is open to new members who wish to help continue their legacy of generosity and compassion for the benefit of the ACMC patients and staff. The President of the Highland Auxiliary is Alice Kaida who is a retired Nursing Director for ACMC. You can contact Ms. Kaida for more information on how to join by calling (925) 935-3782. |
