Cancer Navigator Receives Funding from San Francisco Foundation
The Cancer Navigator Program provides patients, their caregivers, and families with practical support to help overcome barriers to care. A joint program of Alameda County Medical Center and the American Cancer Society, the volunteer run program assists patients in following through with their cancer treatment programs. The Cancer Navigator program refers patients to social and support services, links patients with translation services, gives emotional support, accompanies patients to appointments, and researches questions about treatment options and about their type of cancer.
