Capital Campaign
Capital Campaign for the Alameda County Medical
Center (ACMC) was launched by the Alameda County Health Care
Foundation (ACHCF) in 1999 to assist the medical center its
campaign to construct a new facility to replace the 1920’s
and 1950’s Clinics Building that are outmoded and failed
to meet seismic standards. With funding provided by the State,
County and the Medical Center, basic construction costs for
the new building have been secured however, the limited budget
did not include new equipment for the new facility.
With a goal of $5 million dollars, the Foundation
raised a total of $5.2 million for the purchase of state-of-the-art
medical equipment and furnishings for the new Koret Foundation Critical Care
and Clinical Center, which opened in May 2004.
