Donor Profile: Scott C. Verges, JD

A steadfast friend of Executive Director the Alameda County Health Care Foundation, Scott Verges delivers both business acumen and a keen sense of community service to all his efforts on behalf of the Alameda County Medical Center. Scott joined the Board of Directors of the Foundation in January of 2005, and now serves as First Vice Chairman, as well as the leader of the Fund Development Committee.

Scott is General Counsel for TMG Partners, which develops and manages all types of real estate projects, with emphasis in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Scott brings to the Foundation not only his business expertise, but also his vision and commitment to the community. He says, "Although all of the Foundation's priority programs are enormously beneficial, I particularly am interested in the Comprehensive Chronic Disease program. My father and three of my grandparents were diabetics and I have seen firsthand the consequences of this disease."

Scott also tells us, "Health care and education are my two major charitable priorities because they have the most direct and significant impact on people's lives. The ability to work with professionals in the health care profession and to connect my colleagues and friends with health care issues is one of the major benefits from serving on the Foundation Board."
