Board Member Profile

Bruce Bauer

Long-time Alameda County Health Care Foundation board member and current board treasurer is Bruce Bauer, owner of West Coast Vending. Over the past 10 years, Bruce Bauer and West Coast Vending have contributed support to the Foundation’s overall growth, its capital campaign, and operating fund.

Bruce’s sincere commitment to the health and welfare of our community go beyond the ACMC and ACHCF. He is also an active member of Eden Medical and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.

Throughout his time on the board, Bruce has been a very visible and active volunteer. Currently, Bruce holds the position of reigning chair of one of the Foundation’s major fundraising activities, the Annual Golf Classic. From the bottom of their hearts, Bruce and his wife Elaine have for years past contributed a treasure chest of toys and books for children awaiting in the ACMC emergency room to help brighten their day.

As a Alameda County Medical Center vendor, West Coast Vending has provided the Foundation a portion of its proceeds. Bruce is a honorary Alameda County Sheriff and member of the 100 Club which raises monies for families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Also, he’s a retired Air Force pilot; and in his spare time he still loves to fly a plane from time to time. Bruce epitomizes an ideal board member. We’re privileged to have him on board!

Bruce’s dedication to the foundation’s efforts are truly admired and appreciated, and he epitomizes a true board member.
